Peppermint Pickles

Hot, summer days on Clara Place.

An uphill walk to the corner store.-

We'd eat up all the candy.

Then go right back for more!-

Then one day, it just happened.

It happened so suddenly.-

It was my oldest childhood friend,

that made this discovery!-

She had a peppermint stick,

At which she began to nibble.-

Then she took the peppermint stick....

and stuck it in a pickle!-

Who in their right mind,

came up with this treat?-

We tried it and enjoyed,

the sour and the sweet!-
