Sick, guilty, tired

I upset someone today

People-pleaser's mind

Sick to my stomach

Worry that they now hate me

Anxious fingers tap

Guilty of the hurt

The pain they feel in and out

This was all my fault

Tired of the effort

It takes to make all happy

Am I happy too?

Poet's Note: I think there are a lot of people pleasers out there who are tired of how physically sick and anxious they feel every time someone shows a negative emotion toward them. I've cut off so many corners of myself to be able to stuff my soul into a happy little box to present to others. And I'm just about done. If you're struggling with this too, this is for you. May we all find the peace we're looking for.

Beautifully captured!! Sometimes, I find guilt to be imposed by outside sources.

  • Omgggg, I'm a pathological people pleaser and this was highly relatable. I'm now slowly learning to say NO and set boundaries but the guilt is so real. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️

Yes I was a people pleaser but now I have understood it's not needed to impress everyone and make them happy
