PennyWise

Or IT?

By Kaylynn Marie ThomasPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Have you seen him?

Him? You mean that in the darkness, the dim?

No, I mean him.... or it?

The thing that’s gone after a deadly hit

He hides around in plain sight

Doesn’t matter if it’s day or night

Hiding in a night tinged red

Next time you wake you are dead

Eyes glowing, peeking out

Last they hear is your shout

Walking along you hear a mutter

Here is this thing in the gutter

Kids missing, so many gone from here

He morphs into our worst fear

A man here in this guise

Along comes the clown Pennywise

A tortured soul

His wagon stuck in a never ending hole

Alone with a child so young

Solace I’m the fear they sung

From the dark he creeps out beside her

In the form of a giant spider

Teeth so sharp like a razors edge

Pain and mutilation is his pledge

Lure them out of sight

So he can show them the nightly fright

Eyes only thing aglow

The blood never stops the fear never slows

Without fear nothing will look

Skip to the end of this book

As fear cries out into the night

IT will come to seek that fright

Twenty seven years says the legend

When many lights go to the end

How many shapes will it be?

Can the adults even see what we see?

How many days at a time

Will we fall before the finish line?

How will it begin, where will it start

Maybe by eating out his heart

A special message written for me

“Come home” in blood for all to see

surreal poetry
