Pen to Paper

Pen to paper;

an escape most can't relate to.

Pen to paper;

jotting down all the thoughts you can't express.

Those thoughts,

the ones we can't seem to escape;

they always look best when take

from pen to paper.

Battles inside my head,

or even those outside it;

always look better when you put

pen to paper.

An escape;

something that we don't want,

yet we can't find -

even when it's standing right directly in front

of us.

The escape,

the one we long to grasp,

always looks best when we put pen to paper.

But..

sometimes,

sometimes we can't just put

pen to paper.

Sometimes,

we have to express ourselves,

with more than just some pen

or some paper.

Sometimes,

we need that physical escape;

sometimes,

we need a friend.
