Crunching snow beneath my feet,
The chill of winter air in my throat,
I close my eyes and breathe deeply,
Trying to let the moment last.
Peace is hard to come by
In a world marked by chaos.
That feeling when it washes over you
Is something to savor
Like a fine wine,
Each taste - a whole new experience.
Moments of joy and clarity
Often come without warning.
They will hide in the mundane,
The simple beauty of existence
Without the fanfare
Of something planned
To be celebrated.
There's something about
The mountains,
The clear sky,
The fresh air,
The fact that
If I lie down right now,
I could freeze,
That reminds me that I'm alive.
Moments like this are not to be wasted,
Indulge in the clarity.
