Pax Americana

Not Peace By Virtue, Peace By Design

By ambiguous karmaPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

I. PAX AMERICANA

History watches silently as nations turn to myth. I write because silence no longer suits me.

Empires rarely collapse in a blaze. They fade...quietly, procedurally; under the weight of their own contradictions. This one may be no different.

Where marble once held ideals aloft, we now build data towers, offering tribute to convenience and commerce. The Capitol was not overrun by invaders; it was rented to consultants. The legions wear Kevlar, their authority outsourced. The temples sell branding. The oracles now sort search results.

We export war, call it freedom. We stimulate markets, call it prosperity. We manage symptoms, call it care. We accelerate, and call it forward.

The old world burned at the edges.Ours, perhaps, is dimming from within, exhausted, overstimulated, disoriented.

This is Pax Americana: not peace by virtue, but peace by design. And that design is beginning to crack.
