Passionate Curiosity

My core components

Fire consumes all below the surface

Swallowing whole the fullness

of my reasons for still being

And igniting them

Setting alight the feelings

that flow with such wildness, an

Untameable, undefinable

Unchoreographed dance

Burning

Of passion and power

Strength and resolve

For what I love is worth loving

And worth living

Awe-inspiring

Each root I grow of my evolutionary tree

A different species

A different being

Biodiversity of Earth empowering

diversity of me

Bold flame orange and

fighting red, I glow

of unyielding heat

A blaze fed by life

Flora and fauna and fungi alike

Alight

Magnificent, confident

Glide

through the dirt

which feeds the small ones

Through the ground and

the grass others walk on

And compress these roots

Compact, restricted

But still existing

Feeding, holding steady

Constant, consistent, unoffended

The passion that grounds me.

Fog shrouds all above the now

Ever-thinning, ever-thick

A haze that blurs

what I aim to see

And parts at times when

I walk that way

Adventure on

Searching

Always seeking and learning

the new and novel

and puzzles to solve

Finding challenges to satisfy

the hungry cat

curious and aware

of all that stands between

this tree trunk and the sky

Each branch a new chance to ask why

How does this happen

Research, analyse

A problem difficult is

food for the mind

A conversation with a stranger

A step in the dark

A thrilling opportunity

for my questioning heart

always questions

theorises

Communicates, externalises

Bridge the gaps and

crack the codes

Move and advance

Discover what was unknown

and hidden

Boxed up and shelved

on the clouds I reach for

Branches growing towards

the mist and the so far missed

Solutions debated, creative

Mystery thrives where intrigue lies

Restful but never asleep

Calm and collected keys

Unlocking hypotheses and

the struggles of those we meet

with science and

the curiosity that pushes me.
