That passion flower—
very lovely, isn’t it?
An intricate anatomy
of androecium and gynoecium.
Humans interpret it,
as per own liking.
Let's me explain.
According to Hindus,
the passion flower is
Krishna Kamal.
Each element of the flower,
characters of Mahabharata.
The top three buds,
are the trinity of Gods
Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
Christians see it differently—
for them, it symbolizes,
crucifixion of Jesus Christ,
a depiction of His Passion.
But the flower doesn’t care,
it evolved that way
to attract pollinators,
to make fruit, to sow seeds,
to self-perpetuate.
I chuckle at the stories,
we weave, we propagate,
as per our beliefs,
to me, a science-lover,
knowing truth is relief.
