part of the legacy

stream-of-consciousness ramblings of a madman or genius, you decide, I'm undecided. Cos, 1,001 was necessary.

If you saw my most recent post...

We were always art.

-

Now that formalities are out of the way

red

it's time to cause a little havoc

acted

burn the bridges of the past

to

strangle the standards of poetry

make

that went before I put pen to paper

you

butcher the bard's words

think

"To be a well-favoured man is the gift of fortune;

and question?

but to write and read comes by nature"

red

to be or not to be a well favoured man?

acted

that is the question and the answer

because

shall we brainstorm podcast the answer

that's

I write and read because I desire and need

the

to consume words and to misuse them

power

recriminalize some, decriminalise others

victimise some, devictimize others

I am but poor and ugly, or handsome and rugged,

it does not matter

so I do what comes

easiest and most difficult to me

to look at life, existence

the very fabric of time itself

and discover, understand the very beating heart of it all

and offer some consideration, some diatribe about

everything and nothing

anything and nothing

words are but my sweet tasting poisoned chalice or my bitter tasting elixir I gift to those who would be brave and bold to sit at my table and dine

the very thoughts that hawk forth from my mouth, propelled from my brain to your eyes and ears

when you read my words, you read my mind, the lies I utilise to decorate the truths

the big boasts and little laboured cries in the void at night

poetry is the recreation, or is it the re-creation of those quiet unseen moments

I decree, because what's a poet without a decree of some sort

I decree that this be art because I designate it a higher position than simple mutterings or scribbles on a file no one will read

its very existence itself is proof that it is more than just the sum of its parts, it is part of the legacy

a legacy that I decree shall be known as

Heheh redacted!! 😄 I enjoyed this one - you in a nutshell. Also liked this line a lot, “I write and read because I desire and need”.

The differences in tone and use of italics plus those longer lines throughout made something very unique. Maybe a little bit of madman vibes sprinkled here and there, but definitely genius too. Keep it up!

WOW. You've outdone yourself, Paul!! The push and pull of paradoxes, all laced with razor-sharp insight into your own thoughts and the world of writing...this is bloody brilliant, mate!

Very clever. Redacted. Hmmmmm. Glad you're still writing.

Methinks this is ambiguity beautifully showcased in the mind and words of a genius poet.

  • Not me reading "well favoured man" as well flavoured man and wondering how best to cook him 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Loved this so much! 🍩🥐

Redacted?!? How could you? The mystery will plague me, possibly for all time if my memory holds out. Great 1,001 piece of Paul poetry perfection!

Bloody brilliant Paul, right here was where it got me: "poetry is the recreation, or is it the re-creation of those quiet unseen moments". Here's to the unseen moments!

I really like it when you write two poems for one. You are one creative writer/poet.
