Paradise

Hawai’i

Tahiti to some other extent

are essentially a resting place for the living

Unfortunately

only few mortals get the chance

or take it

if or when it presents itself

to unwind there

Most of us settle for our afflicted places

pretending that we have got it made

For many of us it has been going on

for so long that we really believe it to be the best

New York

London

Paris

Rome

are such spots

portrayed as enviable when they reek of despair

amid all their glories of yore

Of course we are first in line

for all the hottest gadgets and fads

We are very quickly distraught

by the sheer number of choices

that are pushed at us

We want them all

but we can barely afford a few or even one

even worse

we do not really need any one of them

Tahiti to some extent

Hawai’i completely

Paradise

are essentially a resting place away from the dying
