can you interpret, through skilled movement of your body
the chaos within the creative mind?
can you pirouette in time to the frantic, frenzied sparks
as the synapses and grey matter
produce masterpiece after disasterpiece, raw and dripping,
and transform, elevate it in dance?
elongate your limbs and prance as if on the breeze
while fingers tap out a beat
on the keyboard—a beat that gives life, rhythm to the words
as you pivot, plié, leap
Peel back your leotard-skin, expose your very being to me
as the words course through you

Oh my. This poem itself is art. Well done.
How are your writing so much? Need to get back into it, for shame. This is an excellent little piece and mostly refreshing coming after some heavier, darker and longer ones which I also liked as you know the other week. Superb job. Also loved this word “disasterpiece!” 😄👍
I love the idea of art crossover from words to motion. Wonderful poetry to dance to!
As a former dancer, this totally captured the feeling of expressive dance and what it feels like to just feel the music! Great work as always Paul!!!
Love the use of ballet imagery for describing the creative flow! Nicely done!
Oooo, this was so beautiful Sir Paul! 🍩🥐
Absolutely beautiful work! You describe human creativity so gorgeously.
I love this… I also love the photo you chose to ice it with. How stunning! What is soC? 🙃🙂
Music, poetry, and lyrics all go together. Even without the music, you can still feel the steady rythmn and the beat pulsing from the words as they sink into your mind. I really love this a lot!
A cunning comingling of the dancer, the author and the reader, good sir! Yeats' "Among School Children," which sounds creepy but is not, came to mind as I was reading your ingenious work: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/43293/among-school-children
