The missing puzzle piece of my life

Hold my hand, walk with me

We can listen to your favourite music

Or we can speak in silence

Quiet gestures, dreamy days

I have an ocean within my heart

The waves reaching your shore

Can I teach you how to swim?

Or will we drown?

Or can we simply be?

Underwater, just you and me

It’s raining here

It’s raining there

You don’t like rain

Neither do I

You drive in frustration

Unable to see beyond the downpour

I stare out of the window

Wishing my cat would curl up on my lap

The cars honk

The downpour continues

I’m not there

You are not here

We are in between

Reaching out with hope in our hearts

Accepting the downpour of life

Our paper boats

Floating somewhere in rainwater

Unbeknownst to us.
