THE YEAR THAT NEVER HAPPENED

Time sucked into a black hole

The year that never happened.

That time the pandemic stole

The world we felt abandoned.

The year we never had

Where we all were confined.

The year we felt a little mad

That year we left behind.

What did you learn?

What did you see?

About the eternal return?

About what could be?

What did you leave behind?

What did you foresee?

How were you so blind?

About what would be?

WHEN THE WORLD STANDS STILL

What did you see in your mind?

When the world became within?

What reality did you find?

Far beneath your skin?

What horrors did you feel?

Deep within your mind?

What wounds did you heal?

Or did reality make you blind?

When the world goes still

Listening to the sounds of the mind

Slow, slow to a standstill

What reality will you find?
