In isolation, lacking motivation, watching news of contagion,
Just another day in lockdown,
Melbourne approaching 200 days,
Cold, grey, rainy weather outside our windows,
Winter inside and out.
But despite the frustration, desperation, stagnation,
Creation is what we have been known for,
Sourdough starters, music and Zoom parties,
Arts and crafts in our windows,
Trying to make the sun come out.
Persuasion, vaccination, determination, as a nation,
We are all in this together,
We’ve overcome bushfires, cyclones, floods,
Wars at our windows,
Summer is coming, and we will go out,
Together.
