From life:
The smiling cup slides
To parting lips
That reflect
Our voices
Our eyes that play
Many parts in one day
Like sun-
Rings of fire that keep us warm
Like moon-
Shy to continue, to completeness
It never lasts
Smooth and dark
Overtakes...
And thrives to a spout
That keeps you friendly and fair
Busy and valuable
How much do you need?
To feel
Topped off
If you had it all
You’d be one big pumpkin!
A glorious cow!
More roach than you are human now
But you wouldn’t know
You just wouldn’t know
Steeped in disguise,
Like the trees in any play
The metal to the melting backdrop
You, to all in your room.
This poem is part of a series of 25 daily word experiments I am committing to for the month of October. The motto: “Sometimes garbage, sometimes sweet, not fun everyday, but everyday anyway!” Intrigued to experience what can be created (and discovered) in the process of developing a consistent writing practice, I will be writing a poem a day until my Vocal+ subscription ends at the end of the month. Let’s gooooo!
