Paint Samples

A poem about diversity

By Ryan BurkeyPublished 3 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

It’s a special place, this little tile I call home

On its own it’s not much, but with its neighbors

A vibrant city they form

Countless tiles, each a different shade

Pick a color

Any paint you desire can be made

There’s the blue hues and green glows

The pinks and reds and sunshiney yellows

The complementary classics, black and white

The purples and oranges,

Pastels that delight

The simple, the elegant, the practical and pretentious

The quiet colors, the subtle

And the bold and ostentatious

Every gradient you can fathom, every pixel known to exist

Collectively create a mosaic of colorful bliss

And though many colors are displayed on the wall

The collection would be incomplete without them all

Just one tile missing and the rest are not the same

For each has a purposeful place and an imaginative name

Equal in worth and artistic taste

Each tile is unique and cannot be replaced

From end to end the palette is perfection

A mirror image of humanity’s reflection
