Pain hidden in silence

A painful story written in silence.

The ocean was so proud,

Of its mighty storms.

It had drowned countless lives,

Within its raging waves.

With a smile, I merely spoke its name,

And it relented with pity.

But when it saw the storm inside my heart,

Only you stayed silent.

While everyone else called out my name,

Even enemies came to save me,

But you drowned me—by giving me your name.

I had reached the shore,

Yet I longed to drown once again in the ocean of your memories.

To sip once more from the cup of pain you had poured for me.

And every soul you glanced at with a smile,

Met their end, whispering your name.
