ringing in my ears

Overthoughts

I’ve overthought this once before,

embossed my brain;

It’s in my head forever more.

I suppose it’s just part of the lore,

It’s nothing, I know,

I’ve overthought this once before.

I walked away with my ego sore;

Did I see what I just saw?

It’s in my head forever more.

It’s something I found hard to ignore,

Look left, look right,

I’ve overthought this once before.

To be stuck in here’s what I abhor,

It’s ringing, twisting, looping,

It’s in my head forever more.

Still I’ll sit, see what’s in store,

I won’t run away,

I’ve overthought this once before,

It’s in my head forever more.
