Overflows

Haunted echoes.

By Novel AllenPublished 3 months ago Updated 3 months ago 1 min read

Earth drinks our sorrow

Cries tears. Mourns humanity's

Descent into dust

*

We build walls of stone,

worn souls weeping...overwhelmed

Like taut springs. Uncaged...

*

Cracked stone cannot hold

the flood of what is to come -

guilt bleeds into sand.

*

The well remembers

every echo, every fall -

we drink what we sow.

*

No warning , Like death,

waters gush forth, spewing life

We become undone.

There’s such depth in how you connect water with guilt and memory. It feels like both a confession and a cleansing.

  • "Guilt bleeds into sand I especially loved that line!

This is beautifully written. I love how the imagery flows from restraint to release.
