An overcast can become

A sight of despair.

A sadness that fills

Without a sense of care.

A mournful taste

Bitter as one's tears.

A wishful absence

As one leers.

Yet there are many

Who enjoys its' place.

The trickles of songs

That fall from grace.

The steady stream

That flows all day.

Feeding the ground

Keeping the heat at bay.

The harsh down pours

Can be annoyance to many.

But its' anger drives to keep

The lakes and rivers a plenty.

But in the colder seasons

The overcast brings another tale.

As the rain freezes

And becomes more frail.

The harsh white snow

Can be a nuisance indeed.

Yet the beauty it covers

Amongst the land and trees.

An overcast can become

Many tales throughout the days.

All you need to do is listen

To the songs it wants to play.

About the Creator

Mark Shaw

I began writing lyrics and stories back in high school. Even went as far as publishing a poem online and it being in a book. As with film a picture can say a thousand words and show emotion, but audio triggers that emotion.
