Over the Rainbow

One step at a time

By Joslyn DorrellePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Those green eyed devils tried to keep you down

Andwhen it came time for confrontation

Those yellow-bellied cowards were nowhere to be found

Oh they were singing like blackbirds trying to defame your name

Knowing that after they got finished with you

you would never be the same.

Oh...they stooped so low they began brown nosing and commingling with murderers and thieves

With red blood stain hands they rolled up their sleeves...

Ready to carry out the dirty job of betrayal

Crisp blue skies became purple hazed and orange Then darkend by dusk the day we began to mourn

he dawe began to mournthethe

the dawe began to mournthethe

en

the day we began to mourn

Unaware and oblivious to the the gray storm clouds coming in

Silver streaks and thunder clapping made it seem like the downpouring rain would never end

Yes, but then the sun began to shine through life's prism

Casting a beautiful arch across the sky with each and everyone of those colors in them

The brightest symbol of Hope

A New covenant started

Deep breaths blowing through pink rosy cheeks knowing that every lethargic moment of bewilderment has now Departed

As moment s fade to vapors

You'll be so glad to know that there still is so much life to live over the rainbow.

So each day you wake

let my true colors shine

Be sure to Inspire others along the way

that they too can overcome the traumas of varying dispositions one step at a time.
