our very existence is art.

no, not like the paintings or abstract sculptures in museums.

and not like the sketches and crafts we made in school.

art goes way beyond that.

this life is not something to just draw out plainly but something to be felt completely.

it’s not some instruction manual you have to follow.

it’s a song you can sing however you wish.

it’s a big beautiful canvas with countless ‘happy little accidents’.

you can learn to skate and learn to dance.

you can run for miles in the dead of night or bike along the river on a sunny afternoon.

and each day is an aesthetic of your choosing.

as a kid, you can’t be expected to understand all the intricacies of life.

you can color the paper with all 24 of your crayons and make numerous paper airplanes.

you can learn about poetry in english class and try to pick out some random words that rhyme.

but what they can’t teach you is why people express themselves at all.

because it’s fun, sure.

but more importantly, people need a way to process their feelings.

and I guess that’s what we could never understand as kids.

this life’s a maze of emotions.

and everyone navigates it differently.

but that’s what makes our existence art.

this maze can be whatever you want it to be.

with your heart as your guide, you can go wherever you wish.

you can color this existence black or revitalize it with all the colors of the rainbow.

it can be a symphony of all your highs and lows.

you can break into a thousand pieces and still put yourself back together again.

and you can get lost in the middle of it all.

but promise me this, enjoy the hell out of it.

because it’s going to be beautiful no matter what.
