We’ve spent our oak leaves

Lives thin and dry as paper

Away we’ll flutter

I like how the word "flutter" doesn't feel as downbeat as the first two lines, almost like there could be freedom there in release. But also a smart analogy with humans as leaves that have used up their time.

  • That last line felt very liberating. Loved your Haiku!
