If we ever met, for what it’s worth,
I’d introduce you, alien, to the earth.
*
Our home, where trees and flowers sway
And animals come out to play
*
On Earth, the rivers sing a song
That makes you want to sing along
*
And every whisper of the wind
Feels like a message from a friend
*
Compared to yours, it may seem quaint,
Our world of technical constraint
*
Where all the trains don’t run on time
And humans write imperfect rhyme
*
But we have something special, too–
A magic that can make us new
*
Each time our bare feet hit the ground.
On Earth this healing power’s found
*
So help us, alien, if you must.
Show us how to regain trust
*
With Nature, who we pushed too far
With every ill-appointed car
*
Teach us your technology
To heal our world and become free
*
But don’t take us away from Earth.
Our place is here, for what it’s worth.

I think they already know our shortcomings, been watching us for so long. Still, walking in actual Earth may just do the trick. Good luck, you have made a grand start, please save us all. 💜❤️
No since in going someplace else if a species can't make it here - "wherever you go, there you are" 🤷🏼♀️Great write!
So beautifully written. Not one rhyme was imperfect, and I love the light humor in each verse of truth. With each new day once our feet hit the ground, we draw on that unique human power to make all things new again! Bravo!!!
Oooo, I love how your first and second lines of your first and last stanza ended with earth and worth! Such a beautifully poem!
This is beautiful! Soft and heartfelt… reminding us all to what is pure and good… I love it 🥰
Beautiful expression of what it means to be indigenous to a place, the connection one experiences with all that surrounds us when we are at home.
This was such a good entry omg 😳
