Our Love...

Still an upended question

There's water under the bridge...

Two rings, our children, a multitude of broken pledges...

We fought until we threw around insults like they were little darts.

Causing small cuts and tears in our relationship until there was nothing left in our hearts.

Young, foolish, immature...we had no idea how to properly care for one another.

Ahh but the love...it was there.

We simply did not know what to do with it so we threw it away.

Tossed, tossed it under the bridge as the sky became evermore gray.

Time goes on, we live, we learn and we still care.

Ahh but the love...it was still there.

Through good and bad, the world spins.

The bridge still stands between you and I, I've found she still swings.

Are we meant to have one true love in life?

I can not answer this except to say I believe this life is full of strife.

I do not think God would want us alone.

Care and longing is what I have been shown.

I see it in your eyes and actions.

I do not take any of it for granted this time.

I see the water rising as you say,..." I don't know if I can be just your friend."

Lets go swimming baby even if it's our end.

Lindsey Altom

For me, writing runs in the blood. I've written songs, poems and short stories ever since I was a little girl. I mostly like to write about my life experiences mixed with a little fiction or just things that come off the top of my head!
