Orion's Belt

When strolling on the beach one night, reflecting on my path,

I pondered this existence, and why you had to pass.

As my eyes were lifted, to glean an answer from the stars,

I thought I heard you whisper, gently calling from afar.

"Is that you, Love?" I inquired, as I scanned the sultry sky.

"Life has been so lonely since the day you said 'goodbye'."

As I was lamenting this, the surf began to pound.

I was overcome by a tidal wave that was building stronger, with resound.

I fell down on my knees sobbing, feeling empty to the core.

I looked again to the heavens, to ask of you once more.

Then I saw a little twinkle, and it happened; it caught my eye.

In one of three stars I noticed, and then I understood.

The three make up a belt, Orion's, I have heard.

A belt that serves to bind us, and I took it as a sign,

That you'll be waiting for me, in the starry sky,

Shining so very brightly, to light the darkest night.

So, here I will be waiting, until my time to fly.

Until the day I join you, in the future, by and by.
