The moment you become aware,
You will recognize the hidden aspects of individuals around you.
You may realize when you have been exploited.
You might find yourself ensnared in a deceptive situation.
You could understand how you have been utilized for someone else's gain.
At that point, a new realization will dawn on you: "Genuine friends are rare!"
Thus,
Exercise caution in what you accept at face value.
Refrain from sharing every piece of information you possess.
If someone praises you, let it flow over you without attachment.
Conversely, if you face criticism, do not dwell on it to the point of sleeplessness.
In a world filled with cunning individuals, the truth about who is deceiving whom remains elusive.

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
