I made myself small as I put on a large,long sleeved ,white t-shirt, down past my knees, 90 degrees. Cover up darling-cover up.

Then I hit my twenties-enough summer nights, dancing in the rain,intoxicated by the music on lit up stages,casting rainbows across rhythms that made me realize-No. Open up darling, open up.

I threw away the title of red headed, fair skinned,Irish gal,and reclaimed the wild wombyn who had been suffocating inside white cotton Tees since 1993. Open up darling, open up.

RedTail was born that day, naked under blue skies, drenched in sweat from dancing next to speakers that reverberated out sounds that stimulated my soul. I’m opening up darling, I’m opening up.

My wings stretched across miles of sand,Heat under my feet. I flew with the wind, I moved with the earth, I vibrated with a thousand different heart beats beating in sync. I’m opening up darling, I’m opening up.

Then I met them and they say: You move like the sea, you’re completely free . You flow like the river, you’re a light giver. You glow 15 different shades in 30 different Hues. You are a rainbow of colors pink,purple, and blue. You opened up darling, you opened up.

Their words,a reflection of truth that I reclaim as a mantra of growth. I’m a dancing,whirling, howling wombyn of Truth. Through my sacred dance I perform alchemy, and as the dancer I transform. You opened up darling, you opened up.

Many years have passed by since those days, but I still twirl naked under the blistering sun. My skin no longer burns red now that I’ve given myself permission to breathe. I opened up darlings, I opened up.

I’m a dancer of a different kind, self taught, no structure. Outdoor venues are my classrooms,live music is my teacher, and dancing is my prayer. I am a whimsical,colorful,multi faceted, wild wombyn, because I have opened up darling, I AM OPEN.
