Only time can undo...

A sonnet of light vs dark

Only time can undo...

The crack of a window, the light pouring,

sweetness in warmth just like a mother's kiss.

Yet still in your bed, the darkness gnawing,

a coldness in you that you'd rather miss.

The sun stretching out to cover the room,

exposing your secrets, your quietness.

Pulling the curtains to hide all the gloom,

it's easier this way nevertheless.

Fighting the radiance, won't let it in,

brightness in its expanse - luminescence.

For if it catches you, you'll see your sin,

you are night in its blackest quintessence.

The light is begging to come in to you,

to heal wounds that only time can undo.
