Only A Gain

Not a total loss

By Joe PattersonPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Every now and then you might know a loss, but don't convince yourself that it's a total loss.

I have an understanding of what shot you down, it was the hardships of life that really got you down.

The unpleasant side of life really hits hard and makes you really wanna go and hit the fence hard.

The internal pain really has you crying hard, slow and agonizing as if you're dying hard.

But there's a lesson through all of the pain, and if you learn and grow from that, it'll all be a gain.

When life puts you on your back you gotta get up, this set back is only preparing you for a set up.

You gotta look in the mirror and say life did hit me, but that doesn't mean it's gonna get me.

Self-pity and despair just don't fit me, somewhere I have a guardian angel that fights with me.

Things really aren't as wrong as you think, but you really are as strong as you think.

It's time for you to stop deceiving yourself, you gotta have the courage to believe in yourself.

The pain you feel will only last longer, unless you break the chain of mental defeat and let it make you stronger.

Learn to say "yeah it happen to me, but it's nothing more than a weak distraction to me".

Accept the loss that you took, but never burn from it. It's just a part of the journey and you can learn from it.

Next time you think you're only in pain, remember it's just a temporary loss that is only a gain.
