One week in peace and shining sun
Serenity and the sea
By Jean WilliiamsPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

Many moons ago, not years yet but close
A friend and I took a week from our lives
To live by the ocean - just two friends in harmony
Easy with our moods and inclinations
We gazed at the water joined with the sky
slept , read, drank and ate at will and at ease
soothed by the soft Indian summer air
and the shining warmth of the late August sun,
My skin soaked in the salt and the wind and was freed
of the toxins of the world’s industry
The waves knocked me down and I rose up laughing
My soul stirred as I looked to the endless blue
I stayed as long as my body would allow,
A week in the light of the summer sun.
