One True Vine

He is the One True Vine,

I grow off of him, little by little,

my unfruitful parts, away, he whittles,

my fruitful vines, He welcomes to stay.

I continue to pray and pray.

Life decisions are under review,

this is minimum, to Him what is due.

Every action will all be laid bare,

and all of creation will likely stare.

I want to hear from Father up above,

“Well done my good and faithful servant,” whispering like a morning dove.

Gorgeous work Rowan! Love it! 💕 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

  • Beautifully written and so true! I’m not so keen on being pruned, but it’s always for our good. He is a good God!✅

“You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.”” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭11‬:‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The quote you liked the other day said " The pruning is not for nothing" Pruning is needed to make an unhealthy plant healthy and able to bear fruit. Our Gardener prunes with purpose. Well written with some great imagery, J 😊

This poem feels like a heartfelt prayer, wrapped in hope and devotion. The imagery of the vine and pruning is beautifully symbolic, and the ending line is such a peaceful, inspiring touch. A lovely piece!✨
