One plus One is One
In my heart, I've known for quite some time
That it belongs to you... it's no longer mine...
This love that I have is yours for the taking
And I say, without shaking
That my feelings for you are strong.
What is love? You may ask
It's not an emotion, but an act.
It's what we do for whom we belong.
I'll always be there when you need me.
Caring and attentive, I respectfully
treat you as an equal. As a companion.
We could walk, side by side
With long or short strides
TOGETHER... we can get through thick and thin.
You've always seen me for who I am
Accepted my "good" as well as my "bad"
This duality that lies within us all.
To know this give me power
To accept it gives me strength
To get through every hour
Regardless of it's length
To be able to pick myself up when I fall.
But when times get harder
We need to use anchors
In the dark, we need a bright light...
To me, the obvious choice.
A laugh, a smile... and Your Voice...
I am eternally grateful to have YOU in my life
