Schindler's list

my heart weeps the flood of the deepest sea for the person who is indifferent to the suffering of one person that isn't them

My tears have flooded as though the Holy Spirit drives them out for the person that hates a group of people so much they become indifferent to genocide

One more person, Schindler cried
He cried for the one person he couldn't, didn't save

For the hundreds he saved, one more could be found

Each name cast into the almighty subterfuge of a death camp that was a real haven

The Sabbath ringing in the Nazi guards ears instead of holy terror, blood and screams

One more person, he cried with every fiber of his body and heart

My whole body shakes in a terrible tremor of fear for the person who pretends that a group’s collective death is not their business

Just because they're too far away, a house away, a bloodline too foreign

Or not their same skin tone

Aren't we all human beings?

Why is one soul discounted over another so arbitrarily

When one man knew that one more person would have been all the difference

While you soak in blind sorrows over things that one soul would be grateful to have

Over the blind terror, the fear, the intense grief that holds no name

But one person could tell you, declare in their very stare

If only you would care to actually listen.

heartbreak

“my heart weeps the flood of the deepest sea for the person who is indifferent to the suffering of one person that isn't them” And the world now seems to not care. Poignant and fitting poem, well done!

It presents deep emotional and moral reflections, along with a profound analysis of humanity, compassion, and moral obligations. The courage and sensitivity demonstrated by "Schindler" are remarkable.

This is profoundly moving and heartbreakingly reflective. The raw emotion and piercing questions drive home the weight of empathy and human responsibility. A haunting, poetic cry for compassion that lingers long after reading.
