One Day You Will Miss Me

One day you will miss me, when shadows fall,

In the quiet of the evening, you'll recall.

The laughter that we shared, now echoes thin,

The moments where our hearts were wholly kin.

You'll seek the warmth of words we used to say,

The gentle touch that swept your fears away.

In dreams, you'll find the ghost of who we were,

A love that's gone, yet memories still stir.

The nights will feel much longer than before,

With whispers of a time we can't restore.

You'll chase the fleeting wisps of yesterdays,

And in the silent pauses, lose your way.

For though the world moves on, as seasons blend,

You'll find in solitude, a missing friend.

The stars will seem a little less bright too,

One day you will miss me, as I miss you.
