Once
Just once
I’d like to lay on the beach
Soaking up all the beautiful scenery
But I’m always captivated by the sand
Singular
A minuscule reminder
Of an endless ocean of similarity
And I find myself lost in a daze
The world around forgotten
While I ponder at a bygone singularity
Remembering what once
Just once
Was
And in that instant, I wonder
When my life comes to a close
What poor fool will stare at a grain of sand
Imagining the journey it once took
Instead of enjoying their own
The adventure they only get once.
Just once.
