Once I Moped...

Would Cry, Fill Moats...

By Joseph SeveroPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

“Once I moped - would cry, filled moats;

I got over that perhaps:

The drawbridge snapped collapsed;

Under the overpass: Mishaps I surpassed;

I learned to love them, all-in-all -

Adore, adorn - now worn like coveted coveralls

- Tailor-styled to me: Adversity works for me,

and the punches are punctual;

Luckily, memory’s functional;

Can’t forget if I tried, feel I’d regret if I did;

What had happened has passed, but I am without bereavement ‘cause I connect recollections to all the current achievements;

Physician prescription: I signify, assign meaning;

It seems that it’s up to me to write a life that’s worth living;

I’ve always been one to tell stories,

I’ll catch you up the the present -

then I’ll discuss my predictions from now right down to the ending;

I’ll continue building a bustle, sustain a focus unbending

- Tap will, enhance skills - see to my influence spreading;

I amassed so much knowledge, it’d be a shame not to share it;

Too, I’ll find pay to interpret, create, distribute artwork that’s daring;

I plan to work with the family - the collective and blood -

Someday I’ll start my own unit with a wife worth the love;

I’ll make sure that they’re set beyond the days that I breathe;

I’ll do all that I can before I rest in peace.”
