Once I Hated the Law, But Now I Love This Work

From Chains to Purpose: A Journey of Understanding

There was a time when I stood on the edge,

Looking at law like a heavy chain,

A rigid force that bound my wings,

I despised every rule it carried,

Each one felt like a prison without walls.

I saw justice as a hollow word,

A sound that echoed but meant nothing,

Law, I thought, was built for the powerful,

But where was it for those in need?

Freedom seemed like a distant star, too far to touch.

Yet time, in its quiet wisdom, taught me,

That law is not a barrier

It’s a path for the broken and lost,

A shield for the weak,

A compass for those who’ve wandered far.

Now I stand, surrounded by dusty books,

No longer feeling like a stranger,

But a guardian for the truth that lives inside,

I see not just statutes or codes,

But the stories of people, hidden beneath.

Every case I read is a voice,

Waiting patiently to be heard,

Every argument I speak,

Is a chance to bring light where darkness once ruled.

I used to hate the law

Now, I see its purpose in every soul,

And I love the work of building hope,

One case, one life, at a time.
