On My Way To Work

An accident in waiting

Driving along with no care in the world

Getting to work as time goes on

Bumped from the side by a big truck

Heading right to a pole on the right

Center hit as it creaks and time stands still

Feels like forever but only a moment in time

As the pole falls to the side

Crashing glass is heard in short time

Back window out of commission

Time stands still or so it seems

Get out to check out everything

Cops are called writing the other man’s ticket

Late for work while waiting for a ride

Battle with insurance to pay the lost wages

Oh the scenery and memories that will not go away
