Relentless
arrows whooshing
past me
ruffling my hair
meant to splinter
my peace
disrupt my heartbeat
displace my joy
injure my calm
by trying to lodge
fear and doubt
deep into my
deepest corners
the enemy sees
me cry and smiles
my tears his reward
he knows my one
weakness
intent on
breaking me
through it
I'm bending
like a hurricane-swept
willow sapling
in the tempest
but I won't break
not by design
but by faith
Rooted deep
the day is coming
when I will send
those arrows back
with a force
never expected.
