On Grief Share

Grief is too big to handle alone

At first, we gathered just to mourn,

Our own griefs our own way,

But we've come beside each other;

Built friendships that will stay.

We're made closer in the sorrows,

On our shoulders, carried.

We're learning how to live again,

Despite all which we've buried.

We're comforted by spoken truths

And stories told through tears.

We bear one another's burdens

And ease each other's fears.

As per the cord and the power source,

We, too, must be plugged in.

Connected, one to another,

For strength to flow within.

My heart is thankful for you all,

My mentors and my friends.

We'll always have this time we've shared;

Our memories won't end.
