ON A SURFING SUMMER-DAY

Sun, sea and surf

Blues skies, clouds like cotton balls

Warm breeze tickling, caressing, comfortable on each limb

High-pressure system, absent of summer squalls

Ocean swells building neath my board's fiberglass skin

The rush of water beneath my board

Wave curling and breaking

Behind me, reaching out toward

Me kneeling, crouching, then standing

The triumph of overcoming fear of wipeout

Beach rushing, water bubbling

Excitement overcoming and joyous shout

Board pulling up and sharp exhaling

Wave exploding into white and green spray

As the next set builds on this fine summer day

About the Creator

Michael Trigg

I love writing and I think it shows in my posts. I also enjoy feedback, particularly of the constructive kind. Some people think I am past my "best before date" but if that is true, it just means I have matured.
