of figs and skulls,

of blood and love,

in nature of nature,

lies the stories,

knowns, persons.

which yields fruits

still begets death;

verdant or decay

— following bones,

following dendrites

down, down, down

paths twisting

to be present.

times of stillness lost

in suffocation of

crashing, drowning thoughts.

killing the flame

not knowing it was there

to be kept warm, not to ward off.

find the still in chaos

— down, down, down

paths to find the roots.

skeletons and sinew

keeping rooted as

we follow the fire’s rope

into the dunes and stars,

into the within and without.
