Omer 18 - another life

netzach of tiferet

By Chaia LeviPublished 9 months ago Updated 8 months ago 1 min read

Light the candle in the morning:

dawn to dawn it burns,

tangible, strong, fragile

just as you were.

I will miss you until the next time.

Find me once more in this lifetime

before I seek you out again in the next;

until we are candles in the dark,

keeping each other and the rest warm

in good company.

For now, I look into the fires,

seeing what has been and will be;

shared, known, in a language

not yet legible to us,

fears and tears shed,

down to embers’ glow

as coyote howls and fox shrieks,

as insect trills and owls watch.
