She always liked the boys in school,

who never loved her but looked so cool,

but that's old news... or is it?

She always talked and drank too much

cause she never fit in, was never enough

that's old news... or is it?

and that one teacher said she was a flake...

and that one church lady said, 'maybe God made a mistake'

but that's old news... or is it?

You used to love me - used to want me - used to crave me

I used to be enough

but that's old news.. or is it?

The shift in perspective in the last stanza, expressing a sense of loss and yearning for past love and validation, is bittersweet and emotionally resonant, very nice, thank you very much for sharing, love your works, hope to read more dear Ellie, subscribed.
