Old-growth

there isn't just one trail

Hello, did you know that when you’re older life is still a lovely, cluttered mess of everything and nothing all at once? When you try to make sense of it, you can discover parts of yourself hidden inside like gems harbored by an old-growth forest.

And if ever anyone has told you not to overthink it, then perhaps they don’t quite understand themselves either. Because as you get older, rumination can become the groundwork for your next profound adventure.

The epic secret: there isn’t just one trail, rather several clouded by the mystery of how. And the winding paths, the dead ends, the weathered bridges have all made it onto the map of life, this great journey on which you, I, and everyone are reshaped.

And if ever anyone has made a habit of pondering it more often, obsessively like a theorist teetering on the precipice of a breakthrough, then perhaps they just need a little nudge toward their next remarkable voyage.

We’re all on paths that intertwine. I like this.

You aren't just a self-proclaimed, "wayward soul," but you are a beautiful old soul, too. Me? I'm just "old." Loved this so very much!

What a lovely piece of introspective thoughtfulness. Such great imagery too.
