On the back of this house,
Is an olden device to,
Let people know of welcome,
As a simple passerby would do,
Howdy neighbor,
Let us get to know each other and pass our time,
Without making too much noise in the meantime,
A nice journey is ahead of us,
Knock if you would like to,
A ring of the bell would be better,
It is louder,
And more justifiable,
Serious inquiries only,
Golden chimes with brass knuckles to accentuate the truth,
Of a simple visit of times, when they were greater,
And easier had than others,
These are them that I am glad they are there.

Lovely poem about doorbells and being a good neighbor.
