The grandson:

Grandma, why don't you have teeth?

Why are you praying alone?

And trembles, like the sick

When do they have a fever, grandma?

Why is your hair white?

Why do you rely on a catchphrase?

Grandma, because, like ice,

Is your hand so cold?

Why is your face so sad?

Is your voice so shaky?

Grandma, what do you regret?

Why don't you laugh like us?

The grandma:

My grandson, you are my charm,

You were just born...

And I, I have lived so much

That I'm tired of living!

The years that pass by,

They are killing us without mercy:

Only you can, speaking,

Give me joy, just you!

Your smile, child,

Fall on my martyrdoms,

Like a glimmer of hope,

Like a blessing from God!
