Oh, The Firefly

When the sun goes down

In meadow green while stepping my eyes spy,

the flow of lights, flirtatious with the moon.

To dream of lofty things, I wish were I,

but splendor from below is lovely too

🌛

A display of effort none, amazing be,

We too would soar with wings on high

If fates would will, surrender gravity

a chance to freely leave the ground behind.

🕊

But stay we must, tethered here to the earth,

and dream of fiery streaks across my sky,

find ways to savor long our fondest worth,

be ours to light the night and say goodbye.

💫

A gift of scenic imagery be ours

sit back and breathe, take in all the stars ⭐️
