OH MY SON!

A Mother's Voice Behind the Silence of Strength

Oh My Beloved Son!

You are meant to be strong—

The pillar that holds our crumbling walls,

The bread bearer of our weary home,

Oh, my son!

In you, we’ve planted every dream,

You are the hope that flickers

In the darkest corners of our nights,

A torch we follow blindly—

Oh, my son!

But what about me?

In the echo of your laughter,

I buried my own.

For your joy, I gave up my childhood,

My peace, my fire, my light.

I faded quietly, so you could shine.

"You are supposed to be like that", they say,

Carrying the weight of generations,

Wearing strength like armor,

Never allowed to fall apart.

Oh, my son!

Know this—

Even warriors bleed,

Even sons need saving.

And though I built you for the world,

I still long to be seen by you.
